Summary:
The Fertigation Technician works in conjunction with the Fertigation & Environment Lead to assist with the implementation of all irrigation and nutrient-feeding requirements, completing batch paperwork (master formulas) and ensuring they are followed according to SOPs. Performs regular maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems. Fertigation Technician may also be required to assist in other areas of the growing facility to perform similar duties, as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not restricted to:
Responsible for the maintenance of general irrigation equipment: valves, emitters, drip stakes, drip tubing, and bench lines
Respond to system alarms and diagnose/troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively
Check and balance EC & pH of stock tanks according to company standard operations procedures (SOPs)
Clean and sanitize nutrient tanks, pumps, and filters following sanitation and maintenance SOPs.
Collaborate with the Director of Cultivation and management team to refine and improve practices and standard operating procedures.
Mix and monitoring of nutrient stock solutions
Implement daily monitoring programs, collection of data, and meticulous record-keeping of all nutrient use
Maintain and ensure proper storage and sanitation of all nutrients, tools and equipment, including but not limited to shop vacs, pumps, hoses, carts, scissors, stools, totes, gloves, rags, and PPE gear
Comply with company and product label safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Collaborate with other areas to schedule and implement necessary activities.
Plan and record batch-specific instructions for days when absent to ensure all plants receive individualized care.
Proactively seek opportunities to improve practices, offer input on the refinement of SOPs
Be open to the possibility of inter-departmental training.

Assist in the development of reports for the department/focus area
This position requires working scheduled weekends as needed.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
Minimum 1 year in a fast-paced, highly regulated work environment
Experience in horticulture or high throughout production facility is an asset
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Must be willing to obtain pesticide application safety certification.
Able to work variable shifts to meet business requirements. May include weekends, holidays, and over-time.

Available to work weekend schedules and overtime as necessary

The associate must be capable of performing manual labor on a daily basis, including lift and/or moving up to 50 lbs., unassisted, stand for extended periods of time, reach with arms/hands, walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach, twist, lift, push, pull as required, likely exposure to moving items throughout shift.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to fertilizers, plant pathogens, pollen, allergens, dust, odors, and other volatile organic compounds, extreme temperature, lights and high noise levels. The employee must ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and knowledge of how to manage their own personal safety under these conditions.
