Job Description

The Facilities Specialist will work closely with other staff, and at times, vendors to ensure the overall upkeep of our installations, perform minor inspections, and minor repairs, and schedule maintenance to maintain facilities equipment and provide a clean and safe work environment following company standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Perform daily walk-through inspections and perform repairs to interior and exterior systems to ensure proper operations
· Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as HVAC systems and building components as needed
· Ensure maintenance work is planned and completed promptly to minimize downtime and provide uninterrupted service to facilities
· Respond to requests to repair or replace fixtures and/or equipment. Which include requests such as installing or moving furniture and equipment, drywall repair and painting, and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
· Respond to after-hours calls from the facility manager or manager on site regarding emergency issues that may affect or impede the normal productivity of personnel or equipment on site.
· Maintain all equipment reports on-premises filing proper paperwork accordingly
· Maintains a clean environment within the administration area, including stairwells, and suit-up room, ensuring spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, and dusting surfaces.
· Maintains floor maintenance schedule to include; dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping and waxing, buffing, mopboard clean-up, carpet sweeping, vacuuming, spot cleaning, carpet cleaning, and cleaning of floor machines
· Washing and sanitizing toilets, sinks, and showers and restocking disposables as needed
· Maintain outer premises by removing debris/leaf removal, mowing lawn, cleaning entrances
· Assist with the supervision of vendors on site for preventative maintenance and breakdown maintenance work
· Perform other skilled installation, maintenance and repair tasks as directed by FC Manager
· Ensures compliance with safety matters under Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
· Collaborates with other departments to ensure all room set ups, deliveries, waste management, recycling activities and grounds maintenance are performed in a timely and appropriate manner.
· Adhere to the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
· Support cultivation unit staff in cleaning efforts, as needed
· Maintain facilities shop in a neat and orderly manner, ensure all tools are functional and properly stowed when not in use.
· Maintain inventory control and restocking on a daily basis
· Proficiently and safely use snow removal equipment such as shovels, plows, snow blowers, skid loaders, vehicles with plow blades, and other power and manually operated tools and equipment used to perform snow removal
· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Highschool diploma or GED. Possession of a trade license relevant to the role is considered an asset. Forklift Certification is considered an asset.
· One year experience in a facility maintenance position is considered an asset.
· Basic skills in carpentry, electricity, and plumbing are major assets
· Basic computer skills, including the use of MS Office applications, facility management software, and internet research/sourcing.
· Ability to operate lift equipment, including forklifts and boom lifts.
· Candidates must demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities
· Must have a valid driver’s license
