JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS MANAGER

REPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGER

CLOSING DATE: MARCH 28th, 2024 (One year term position, with possibility of extension. Salary starting at $70,000)

 

SUMMARY: Seven Leaf is seeking an Operations Manager to lead its Cultivation Team, providing direction, coaching, training, and evaluating while providing guidance to accomplish established individual and departmental objectives. The right person will have proven leadership skills and a strong background in general business management. Knowledge of the medical and recreational cannabis industry desired, but not mandatory. Must be comfortable multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not restricted to:

· Oversees the daily administrative operations within the Production Department

· Manage the hiring, training, and well-being of production team

· Manage, mentor, and develop the Leads and Team Members by providing timely information, mentoring, coaching, training, providing direction, and guidance to accomplish established individual and departmental objectives.

· Cultivate a strong cooperative team effort addressing any concerns and implementing solutions that drive consistency.

· Communicate work schedules and job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions and assign specific duties as required.

· Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings provide recommendations for improvement.

· Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions

· Plan and review compensation actions; meet or exceed operations labor budget expectations; Manage staff levels, wages, hours, contract labor to revenues.

· Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and resolve problems.

· Provide regular performance assessments, identifying key areas of improvement and implementing solutions and minimize disruptions.

· Track and report daily the Cultivation performance to ensure the completion of short- and medium-term goals (schedule adherence).

· Champion an environment of continuous improvement culture, problem solving, and critical

thinking as a subject matter expert.

· Train employees in the efficient and correct execution of SOPs and maintain corresponding training records.

· Ensure record keeping compliance with applicable Quality standards.

· Ensure inventory in support of production (input material) is available in advance.

· Assist in preparation and management of facility budget.

· Generate insightful production reports, analyze data, and present key performance metrics to senior management.

· Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment.

· Work closely with GM and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.

· Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures.

· Perform other duties as may be required by senior management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Minimum of 5 years proven experience in a management or leadership role. Strong management and leadership skills, with ability to manage and coach staff effectively.

· Ability to manage multiple projects in a multi-stakeholder environment and pivot when necessary.

· Ability to work in adverse conditions. i.e. height, heat, high intensity lighting

· Make Decisions: Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of Seven Leaf.

· Attention to detail is necessary to ensure proper management of plants.

· Available to work weekends and overtime as necessary.

 

WORK CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to plant pathogens, pollen, allergens, dust, odors, and other volatile organic compounds, extreme temperature, lights and high noise levels. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in a climate-controlled environment, walk, kneel, crouch or crawl as required and safely lift a maximum of 50 lbs. The employee must ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and knowledge of how to manage their own personal safety under these conditions
