Post-Harvest Laborer

Full Time

SUMMARY: Our Post-Harvest Laborer works under the direction of our Post-Harvest Supervisor and participates in all post-harvest handling activities, such as Cleaning and sanitization of the post-harvest areas, drying, bucking, curing, and packaging of our cannabis product, and order fulfillment. You will be responsible for meeting company standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT RESTRICTED TO:

· Follow all SOPs, verbal directives, training information, and policies when performing duties.

· Complete all tasks inside the drying rooms efficiently and within established procedures

· Assist in packaging, fulfillment, plant drying, and post-harvest activities.

· Hand trim or machine trim the product to prepare it for the next stage of processing

· Assist with bulk packaging and labelling products to ensure cannabis is ready for vault storage

· Assist with curing process, ensuring it is completed each day

· Assist with trimming, maintenance, and operation of the trimming room and its equipment.

· Identify and report any sanitation or quality issues.

· Flexibility to assume other jobs when work schedule necessitates movement of staff to other positions.

· Ability to Quality Control cannabis offline to ensure the final product is at proper quality.

· Consistently and routinely inspect plants and final product for disease and pests, perform quality control inspections of the final trimmed product.

· Weigh and record materials for performance tracking and complete all required documentation, ensure waste products are accurately labeled and documented appropriately

· Move cannabis (pre and post-harvest) between production environments in an efficient and sanitary manner.

· Ensure all equipment and rooms have been cleaned and sterilized according to SOP’s and Regulatory requirements and recorded in appropriate logs.

· Continuously review SOPs to remain up to date with constantly evolving best practices

· Thoroughly clean equipment, hand tools, containers, materials, supplies, and work areas, using cleaning solutions in accordance with the relevant SOPs.

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor or team lead.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience

· Minimum High School diploma or GED required. University Degree or College Diploma in a related field considered an asset.

· Previous experience trimming, drying and curing cannabis an asset.

· Experience in horticulture, production facility, greenhouse, or similar horticulture environment considered an asset.

· Must be available to work flexible schedule, including weekend schedules and overtime as necessary

Physical Demands:

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the Employee must be capable of performing manual labor on a daily basis, including lift and/or moving up to 50 lbs., unassisted, stand for extended periods of time, reach with arms/hands, walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach, twist, lift, push, pull as required, likely exposure to moving items throughout shift. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.

 

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to packaged cannabis products/supplies. At times the work environment can be noisy and temperate. The employee must have knowledge of how to manage their own personal safety under these conditions.

· Personal Protective Equipment: The employee is regularly required to wear hearing protection, hair and beard nets (if applicable), gloves, goggles, aprons and other personal protective equipment to successfully perform the functions of this job safely.
