SUMMARY: As a Vegetation Technician, you will be responsible for several tasks and duties in relation to the vegetative area and growth stage. You will report to the Veg Team Lead. The position will involve transplanting, preparation, cleaning, setting up the room, trimming, pruning, topping, culling plants, batch paperwork and assisting in other areas when time allows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT RESTRICTED TO:
Job Specific Tasks
· Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in relation to job duties and procedures in the Veg area,
· Work with Veg lead on all tasks assigned not limited to preparation, cleaning, rack maintenance, plant maintenance, transplants.
· Learn and develop skills across the Veg area.
· Scout plants and report any issues or progress that has been noted with tech/lead
· Resolve any problems you are trained and able to. If not relay message to supervisor.
· Learn and use batch paperwork to ensure SOP’s are followed to company standards.
· Assist when needed with data collection for batch assessments.
· Work with other teams across the facility when needed.
Provide exceptional production support by:
· Working with your peers and your team leaders daily to maximize efficiency by consistently modeling a positive attitude towards work, being accountable and responsible to daily, weekly, and monthly goals and adapting to changes in all tasks where required, which may include being cross trained in other departments
· Learning from your direct leaders, team leads, and peers utilizing other resources available to continually expand your knowledge base and fine-tune processes
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience
· High school diploma/GED or equivalent
· Minimum 1 year in a fast paced, highly regulated work environment
· Experience in horticulture or high throughput production facility is an asset
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. The associate must be capable of performing manual labor on a daily basis, including lift and/or moving up to 50 lbs., unassisted, stand for extended periods of time, reach with arms/hands, walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach, twist, lift, push, pull as required, likely exposure to moving items throughout shift.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is exposed to fertilizers, plant pathogens, pollen, allergens, dust, odors, and other volatile organic compounds, extreme temperature, lights and high noise levels. The employee must ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and knowledge of how to manage their own personal safety under these conditions.
OTHER INFORMATION
Employees of Seven Leaf are required to obtain a CPIC-background check which will be subject to random checks during employment. Employees are required to notify Seven Leaf immediately upon any adverse condition with authorities or court systems.
