Job Purpose: The Warehouse Lead/Manager leads and works alongside a cross-trained warehouse team to run all picking, receiving, and delivery operations supporting Nations Trading, Otsire (raw/unfinished and finished cannabis goods), and general receiving for the CAA office. This role builds and maintains the team’s structure and schedule, owns warehouse organization and inventory accuracy, and works the floor with the team rather than supervising from a distance. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring CAA Management’s wholesale and cannabis operations meet their order fulfillment and delivery targets.
Job duties and responsibilities
Team Leadership & Scheduling:
– Lead a cross-trained team of 3-4 warehouse staff covering picking, receiving, and delivery; work alongside the team rather than from a desk.
– Assign and rotate staff across picking, receiving, and delivery roles daily so the team can cover for absences without disruption.
– Develop and Maintain the weekly schedule.
– Enforce order cutoff windows and delivery-day policy so late or missed orders don’t disrupt the weekly schedule.
Receiving:
– Own all incoming receiving for the building at a single designated dock door, covering Nations Trading, Otsire, and general CAA deliveries.
– Log, inspect, and stage incoming shipments; route product to the correct storage location the same day.
– Communicate with vendors and inform appropriate personnel when deliveries arrive or are expected.
Picking & Delivery:
– Coordinate daily order pulls for Nations Trading and Otsire product lines, including flower intake and finished goods picking.
– Oversee store and customer deliveries, including CAA’s white-glove standard for late or missed orders.
– Identify opportunities to consolidate deliveries and buy in pallet quantities to reduce cost (e.g., store supply items such as windshield washer fluid and butane).
Warehouse Organization & Inventory:
– Own warehouse layout and flow; keep product organized and consistent as SKUs and volume grow.
– Lead a periodic full warehouse inventory count with a dedicated 2-3 person inventory team.
– Track and manage marketing/promotional stock as its own SKU class in Fishbowl, kept physically and systematically separate from sellable inventory.
Systems:
– Become proficient in Fishbowl (inventory/order management) and LilyPad (customer ordering); train and support the team on both.
– Oversee the shift to iPad-based picking and scanning, reducing paper-based picking.
– Maintain accurate records of receiving, picking, and inventory activity.
Perform additional duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
– High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification, with 3+ years of warehouse, distribution, or inventory management experience, including leading a team.
– Proficient computer skills; experience with inventory/order management systems (Fishbowl or similar) is an asset.
– Comfortable learning new systems and training others on them.
Skills:
– Strong organizational and leadership skills; able to build structure and hold a team accountable to a schedule.
– Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills required.
– Excellent time management with the ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency; prioritizing tasks is necessary.
– Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate a pallet jack.
– Reliable and available on-site daily; this role does not include regular out-of-area travel.
